The Power of Perception

Just want to pose the question – what if advertising was part of your community experience and not just a picture hanging on your “wall”?

My thought here is – what if we could create an advertising platform that is run by the user and ad’s to their experience. This view isn’t strictly mine, but I have been mulling over the idea since I have seen a post (which I can no longer find) that offers viewers of online videos several choices of advertisers and they get to choose.

Interactivity, even if it is forced, should help build a users experience if it is done correctly. Skittles has begun to try and build a social media feed for their brand to try and capitalize on the trends, but what about lesser known brands that need to advertise?

How would you make online advertising better for the user/less intrusive?
